HVAC Jobs Cumming GA | Cool Season Hiring Technicians
HVAC Careers at Cool Season Heating and Cooling — Cumming, GA

If you've worked in HVAC for any length of time, you've probably worked at a company you didn't love. Maybe the pay was based on commission and you felt pressured to oversell. Maybe the technicians were treated as expendable. Maybe the leadership pushed quantity over quality.
Cool Season Heating and Cooling exists because I wanted to build a different kind of HVAC company — one that I'd be proud to bring my own family into, and one that the right kind of technicians would be proud to work for.
If you're a skilled HVAC professional looking for a place that values craftsmanship, treats people fairly, and runs an honest business, this is what we offer.
Why Cool Season Is Different
Some quick facts about how we operate that matter to technicians:
Hourly Pay — No Commission
We pay our technicians an honest hourly wage. No commission. No "bonuses" tied to selling unnecessary equipment to customers. Your paycheck is the same whether you recommend a $300 capacitor or a $9,000 system replacement — meaning you're free to recommend whatever the customer actually needs.
This is different from most HVAC companies. It's intentional, and it's not changing.
NATE Certification Required (And Supported)
Every technician on our team is NATE-certified. If you're not yet certified, we'll support you through the process — including paying for training and exam fees once you've demonstrated commitment to the role.
Manufacturer Training
As a Bryant/Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer, we have access to manufacturer training programs that most independent contractors don't. Our technicians get continuing education on the latest HVAC technology, refrigerants, and installation techniques.
Reasonable Hours
We work hard, but we don't burn people out. Standard hours are Monday-Friday with reasonable Saturday rotation during peak season. We don't ask our team to work themselves to death just to make our schedule numbers look good.
Quality Tools and Trucks
You won't be working with broken equipment. Our trucks are stocked, our tools are professional-grade, and we replace anything that's worn out. If you need a specialty tool for a specific job, we'll get it.
Honest Diagnosis Culture
If you've ever felt frustrated being pressured to "find more problems" on a service call, you'll appreciate our approach. We diagnose what's actually wrong, recommend what actually fixes it, and document our work professionally. Customers leave service calls feeling respected, not exploited.

Why Technicians Stay With Cool Season
Here's what our team has told us they appreciate most:
"I'm Never Asked to Lie"
The single most common feedback. After years working at commission-based shops, our technicians say the freedom to be honest with customers is the biggest difference. No scripts. No fake "must-replace" recommendations. Just honest diagnosis and fair pricing.
"I Have Time to Do It Right"
We schedule appointments with realistic time allocations. You're not racing to the next call before properly completing the current one. Quality work takes time, and we give you that time.
"The Customers Are Great"
When you treat customers fairly, they treat you fairly back. Our technicians get fewer complaints, fewer angry callbacks, and more genuine appreciation than they did at previous companies. The work environment is just better.
"Real Continuing Education"
We invest in our team's skills through manufacturer training, NATE continuing education, and access to industry conferences. If you want to keep growing in your HVAC career, this is a place that supports that.
"Equipment That Works"
Modern diagnostic tools. Properly stocked trucks. Quality refrigerant gauges. Real torque wrenches. Working ladders. The basics that should be standard but aren't at every shop.
Our Hiring Process
We want to find the right fit, and we know you do too. Here's what to expect:
1. Initial Application
Submit your resume and a brief note about your experience. We respond to every application within 3-5 business days.
2. Phone Conversation
If your background looks like a fit, we'll schedule a phone call (usually with me directly). This is your chance to ask questions about us, and ours to learn more about your background and goals.
3. In-Person Interview
We'll meet at our shop in Cumming. You'll see our facility, meet some of the team, and get a real sense of how we operate. We'll ask technical questions appropriate to the role and discuss compensation in detail.
4. Reference Check
We always check references. We're respectful about it — we won't contact your current employer without your permission.
5. Offer and Start Date
If everything aligns, we make a written offer with all compensation details clearly stated. We're flexible on start dates to accommodate notice periods at your current job.
What We Look For
Beyond technical skills, we look for:
Honesty
If you can't or won't tell customers the truth — even when it costs us a sale — this isn't the right fit. We hire technicians whose values match the company's.
Communication Ability
You'll be talking with homeowners every day. The ability to explain technical issues in clear, non-condescending language matters.
Problem-Solving Mindset
The best HVAC technicians enjoy diagnostic challenges. If you see complex problems as puzzles to solve rather than nuisances to dispatch quickly, you'll fit here.
Reliability
Show up on time. Do what you said you'd do. Communicate when something changes. The basics, but they matter.
Long-Term Mindset
We're building this company for decades. We invest in technicians who plan to invest in us. If you're looking for a 6-month bridge to your next job, we're probably not the right fit.
How to Apply
Send your resume and a brief introduction to:
???? [email protected]
Or call us at (404) 416-6770 and ask about open positions. Either way, we'll respond within a few business days.
If you're not in our service area but interested in eventually relocating to Cumming or the North Atlanta region, let us know — we sometimes have positions that don't get advertised publicly.
A Personal Note from the Founder
I started Cool Season because I wanted to build the kind of HVAC company I would have wanted to work for as a young technician. The kind that treats its people fairly. The kind that doesn't pressure technicians to lie. The kind that invests in training and tools and time-to-do-it-right.
If that sounds like the kind of place you'd want to work, send me your resume. Even if I don't have an open position that exactly matches your background, I'd like to know who you are. The HVAC industry needs more people who care about doing it right, and I want to know them.
Looking forward to potentially working together.
